Spooky

Yesterday, after the drama of being locked out of the house, Craig decided it was time to paint Emma's chest of drawers. He asked me to empty out her drawers while he got everything ready in the garage. Her chest of drawers is in the closet to make more room in her room. I emptied the first drawer, but when I went to get the second I saw ants on the top of the chest. Now we had seen an ant or two, but I thought that was just because Emma had left her lunch bag inside her backpack one day. I realized they were coming from a tin box her dance teacher had given her for her baptism. The only thing left inside was a few candy wrappers and the traces of sugar, but it was crawling with ants! I took it outside to show Craig and he squirted it off with the hose. I went back upstairs to my task of emptying drawers, when I noticed even more ants. Then I found the REAL source. Behind of picture of Emma and me was a peanut butter sandwich, still in the partially-opened ziploc bag, all moldy and covered with ants! It was like a scary movie!! Even the wall seemed to be moving. At first I wasn't exactly sure what to do, but then I grabbed the camera and took these pictures. I knew I would need hard evidence to put true fear in Emma so that she would never do this again!!! We finally got it all cleaned up, all the ants are dead, and the chest of drawers is painted; but it is something I will never forget.
Anyway...enjoy the movie. (Is your skin crawling yet?!?)

Ok, that is kind of gross. I wouldn't put it past any of my boys to do the same thing though.

I can totally relate. When we lived in a 100 yr old house with a major sugar ant problem. We even kept our cereal in the fridge... but it got worse in my brothers room and we couldn't figure out why, FOR A YEAR!! Then finally found a candy cane in it's wrapper, but almost totally gone. The ants had eaten almost the entire thing!! So gross.
By the way, it's so nice to "bump" into you. We have such great memories of you guys and the ward. It still is our favorite ward ever.
