On Friday, Steven and Logan went camping with the scouts. I told Emma and Kevin that since we didn't have any babysitters, they'd just have to go on our date with us. They were very excited! I told Emma that we would be going to Toys "R" Us and she asked if she could bring her credit card. (She had received a $3.00 off card in the mail for her birthday.) We looked through the entire store and Emma finally found what she wanted...Kitty in my Pocket. With her coupon it only cost $3.00. Kevin found a Jack Sparrow toy in the clearance section for $3.00 also. I found a sweater for Freeway. Everything was on sale, so it was only $6.00. It's lime green and purple. I told Craig we need to get him a purple leash to go with it, and he nearly freaked out.
From there we decided to go to the Galleria Mall for dinner. We went to the Food Court so that we could each choose what we wanted. Emma and Kevin chose McDonald's. Gross! Emma had her usual cheeseburger happy meal with fries and chocolate milk, and Kevin had his usual chicken nuggets happy meal with apple slices and chocolate milk. They were happy to get more toys in their happy meals! Craig and I chose Kyklos, a Greek place. We had the gyro plate. Yummy! As we were walking back toward the car, Kevin said, "This is the best date ever!" So cute.
(Side note: Emma accidentally left her purse under the table. We called when we got home and someone had turned it in. Lucky! We were pleased to learn that there are still honest people in the world!)
After that we went to Petsmart to buy dog food for Freeway. We looked around for awhile, found a new chew rope for him, then headed over to Target to pick up a prescription for Steven. While Emma and I were waiting at the pharmacy counter, she looked up at me and said, "It's really fun going on a date with you." I nearly cried. I got tears in my eyes and everything. They were very good for us and truly it was really fun to have them along.
So now you know what an exciting couple we are. Anybody want to double date?

How cute. Kids are so innocent and fun. That's awesome that you have a date night every Friday. Keep up the good work. I just love your kids. I wish we lived closer!
That is too cute. What a fun way to have a date night, and what a priceless moment to have both of your kids say how much fun they were having! Our date nights are pretty rare these days, but we have learned to chalk up any time spend out of the house as a date! :)
I love it! A date night is what you make of it! What a blast!
