Emma and I just finished another year of Jazz and Tap. Yes, it's true...I take dance lessons! It is so much fun!!! My whole life I wanted to learn how to tap dance, so about 4 years ago my Relief Society President, Fara Day (who is also my good friend and whose mother-in-law is the dance teacher), said she would come to the house once a week and teach me to tap. I was delighted to say the least. We would tap for about an hour on the back patio. I'm sure the neighbors thought we were nuts! When it got too hot to tap outside, I decided I better just sign up for the class, and I've been dancing since. Our class has really grown, too. When I started there were only about 10 of us that would actually dance in the recital. This year we had 19! It's awesome! I think I'm the 3rd oldest in the class. How did I get middle-aged?!?
When Emma started dancing at 3, the first two weeks of class she wouldn't even move. Miss Lori would have to pick up her leg to make her toe tap the ground. It was hilarious! When I think about that, I am amazed at how good she has gotten. She is one of the younger girls in her age group yet she can keep up with the older girls. It's fun to watch her continue to learn new steps that we can practice together. But, although she loves to dance, her new favorite thing is cheerleading. She did cheerleading this spring with NYS and cheered at football games every Saturday. I'm not going to lie, I loved it! I always wanted to be a cheerleader, so I got to live my dream through her, and it was all her idea! She had a blast and has informed us that she's going to be a cheerleader at Silvestri J.H.S. and Silverado H.S. We'll see...
