I don't get this...

This is the scene almost every day after school. They want to do their homework wherever I am. I try to stay in the kitchen/family room area so they have a better work space, but on this day I was doing something on the computer upstairs. So here they are with their homework sprawled out on the floor. And almost every day I hear the same words come out of Emma's mouth..."I don't get this." She's in 3rd grade. Lucky for her we still "get" the math she is doing. I'm worried about junior high and high school. I feel like I need to take a class just so I will be competent enough to help them when they need it. The funny thing about Emma is that she really does "get" it. She just reads through the problems so quickly that she doesn't stop to think about what she just read. She has been an excellent math student so far. I hope it lasts. Kevin also excels at math so far. He's just in such a hurry to get on to other things that his work is sloppy. We're still working on that.

I feel your pain with homework. I just get Tyler complaining every night. He has actually come to the realization this year that he has to do homework wether he has a good or bad attitude. He pretty much has a good attitude now (it only took until 3rd grade to figure out)

I love that your kids just follow you where ever you are.
